Disney’s animated film “Zootopia 2” continues to rake in millions of dollars in theaters. The movie’s global box office has reached $1.588 billion and is expected to surpass the $1.6 billion mark in the coming days. As a result, it has become Disney’s highest-grossing animated project ever. This was reported by playground.rureports.
The sequel especially exploded in the Chinese market: there, the film earned over $600 million, becoming the most successful Hollywood release in China. So far, the only title mentioned as a potential rival is “Avatar: Flame and Ash” — which has grossed more than $100 million in China.
Another key milestone: “Zootopia 2” became the fastest PG-rated film to cross the $1 billion threshold — achieving it in just 17 days after its premiere.
“Zootopia 2” also became one of only three films to surpass $1 billion worldwide in 2025. The list also includes the “Lilo & Stitch” remake ($1.03B) and the Chinese film “Nezha,” the year’s global leader ($2.2B).
