Former investigator of the National Security Service (now the State Security Service) Nodir Turakulov lost his fingers due to carelessness. This was reported by human rights activist Abdurakhmon Tashanov.

Several lawyers who came to my reception informed me that the former executioner of the National Security Service, Nodir Turakulov, who was nicknamed "Nodir Khudo" at one time, lost four fingers due to carelessness in a workshop in colony No. 22.

Nodir Turakulov was arrested in early 2018 after President Shavkat Mirziyoyev sharply criticized employees of the regional departments of the State Security Service during a meeting with activists in the Kyzyryk district of Surkhandarya region.

In October 2018, Nodir Turakulov was sentenced to 16 years in prison and fined 81 million soums (over $9.7 thousand). He was charged under more than 10 articles of the Criminal Code.
