Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the mausoleum of Imam Bukhari in Samarkand
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Samarkand on March 22 and visited the mausoleum of Imam Bukhari. The Quran was recited and prayers were said.

– Yesterday, we celebrated the holiday of Navruz with our people. Today, in the holy month of Ramadan, we are here in this holy place. We thank the Creator for bringing us to these great days in peace and tranquility. My God, may our country always be peaceful, our people prosperous, and may all our good intentions come true. We are building this complex in a manner worthy of our grandfather Imam Bukhari. May it be a place of enlightenment, education, and inspiration along with pilgrimage, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

It is noted that a new complex is being built here, with a total area of 44 hectares. Today, a magnificent mausoleum and a mosque designed for 10 thousand people have been completed. 4 minarets with a height of 75 meters give the complex grandeur. A museum, verandas, administration and service buildings have also been built.

Currently, finishing work is underway. National traditions and warm colors are used in this. Hadiths from Sahih Bukhari will be inscribed on the walls of the porches and verandas.

In addition, more than twenty hotels with a capacity of two thousand people, parks, and four ablution facilities will be built in the area.

This year, Uzbekistan will widely celebrate the 1155th anniversary of the birth of Imam Maturidi. The presidential decree on this matter stipulates the renovation and improvement of the complex of the Sultan of Islamic Sciences in the city of Samarkand. This project was presented to the president during the visit.

As noted, the construction of a mosque and an administrative building for 1,500 people is planned in the Moturidi complex. There will be a library, a conference hall, an innovative museum, and rooms for specialists. A parking lot for pilgrims and ablution facilities will be built near the complex.

Imam Abu Mansur Maturidi lived at a time when disagreements were rife in the Islamic world and various sects were multiplying. He devoted his entire life to defending the Islamic creed and spreading its enlightenment. His teachings of Maturidi, such as "Ta'wilatul Qur'an" and "Kitab at-Tawhid", became the spiritual foundations of the Ahlus Sunnah wal-Jama'ah with their principles of tolerance and moderation.

The Head of State, emphasizing that these principles are still relevant today, gave instructions to further study and promote the scholar's heritage to the world, and to expand the conditions for visitors to the complex.

Another auspicious project is aimed at improving the shrine of Makhdumi Azam in Akdaryo district. Originally born in the current Kosansoy district, the Sufi scholar was one of the leaders of the Naqshbandi teachings. After a long journey on the path of science and religion, he found eternal residence in the Samarkand region.

There are also many pilgrims visiting this place. In order to improve the conditions for them, it is planned to build a three-story parking lot and ablution facilities near the Mausoleum of Makhdumi Azam.

The shrines of other scholars and thinkers, and dear saints who came from the land of Samarkand, will also be gradually renovated and improved.
