On August 13, a blast and fire occurred at a compressed natural gas filling station in Surkhandarya region, with reports spreading rapidly on social media. A video of the incident also surfaced, quickly becoming a focal point of online discussions.
According to the regional Department of Emergency Situations, the incident happened at 12:58. It is reported that the explosion and fire occurred due to a violation of the technological process during the transfer of fuel from a tanker truck to a storage reservoir. This led to the ignition of a fuel-air mixture and a powerful blast.
The heads of the regional and district emergency departments personally arrived at the scene. Rescue and firefighting crews acted promptly, fully containing the fire in just 15 minutes. At the same time, no official information has yet been released regarding casualties or major property damage.
Experts note that strict compliance with technological regulations at CNG stations is crucial for the safety of both workers and nearby residents. The Emergency Department announced plans to develop and implement additional preventive measures to avoid such incidents in the future.
