Starting from April 1, 2026, certain payments in Uzbekistan will only be accepted in a cashless form. This was stated in a decree issued by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
According to the law, payments for services provided by state organizations, utility bills, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, transactions at fuel stations, as well as goods and services valued at over 25 million soums, will only be accepted in a cashless manner. Additionally, transactions involving real estate and vehicles, including special equipment manufactured less than 10 years ago, must also be conducted cashlessly.
The document emphasizes plans to reduce the share of the shadow economy and increase the proportion of cashless payments in trade and services to 75 percent by 2030.
