Uzbekistan's Ambassador to the Vatican presents credentials
On Monday, December 15, Uzbekistan's Ambassador to the Vatican, Farrukh Tursunov, presented his credentials to Pope Leo XIV. This was reported by the "Dunyo" news agency.

Farrukh Tursunov also oversees embassies in Spain and Andorra. Since the 1990s, he has held various positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ranging from attaché to department director.

Additionally, he led diplomatic missions in Kazakhstan (2008–2012) and Japan (2012–2017). During his meeting with the head of the Catholic Church, the diplomat provided information about ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan.

He conveyed greetings and best wishes from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Pope. Pope Leo XIV, expressing deep respect for the President and people of Uzbekistan, remarked that the 33 years of diplomatic relations between the Vatican and Uzbekistan have established a foundation for strong cooperation.

It should be noted that diplomatic relations between Tashkent and the Vatican were established on October 17, 1992.
