The Ministry of Energy has developed a project that proposes a 50% discount on electricity for household consumers who fully transition to electric appliances. This was reported by the ministry's press service.
The discount will apply to electricity consumption of up to 2,000 kWh during the heating season and up to 1,000 kWh during other periods. This benefit will not apply to consumers using subsidized gas or coal.
In addition, the ministry recommends the use of electric stoves and electric heating systems in newly constructed residential properties. This initiative is aimed at promoting energy consumption culture and facilitating the gradual electrification of housing.
Currently, a technical audit is being conducted to evaluate the capacity of electric grids to handle additional loads. Simultaneously, further studies are being carried out by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, “Uzenergoinspeksiya,” RECs, and “Hududgazta’minot.”
The ministry emphasized that this initiative should be implemented gradually and cautiously, as it is linked to strategically important reforms. The final decision will be made once calculations and technical inspections are completed.
