The official FIFA website has published the individual votes of players regarding the nomination for the Best Manager of 2025. Among the listed votes is the selection made by Eldor Shomurodov, the captain of the Uzbekistan national team and forward for Istanbul Basaksehir.
The prominent representative of Uzbek football prioritized coaches who demonstrated the most consistent and effective results during the current season in forming his top-3 list. Shomurodov ranked Paris Saint-Germain’s head coach Luis Enrique as his top choice.
The second place in his ranking went to Hans-Dieter Flick, who has guided Barcelona to a new phase, while the third place was given to Enzo Maresca, recognized for successfully shaping a solid playing style with Chelsea in a short period.
Eldor Shomurodov’s ranking has generated significant interest among experts and fans alike, as it reflects his focus on practical achievements rather than just reputations when casting his vote.
It is worth noting that Luis Enrique led Paris Saint-Germain to a remarkable trophy haul during the 2024/25 season. Under his leadership, the Parisians won the UEFA Champions League, the French championship, the national cup, and the Super Cup. They also reached the final of the FIFA Club World Cup and celebrated victory in the UEFA Super Cup.
Shomurodov’s decision to place Luis Enrique at the top of his FIFA vote is another high acknowledgment of the coach’s hard work and results on the international stage. This vote also clearly highlights that the Uzbek footballer closely follows the developments in global football.
