The mayors of Tashkent city and its districts will have the opportunity to place idle funds in deposits, in agreement with local councils. This initiative was proposed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The city council will have the right to allocate 20 percent of surplus budget revenues for the development of districts. Additionally, a law titled "On the Capital Status" will be adopted, granting more rights and financial capabilities to Tashkent city.
This law will address issues such as the distribution of funds, management of city and district services, and the rights of the capital. Starting in 2026, a new "Neighborhood Seven" system will be implemented in Tashkent.
This system will be fully integrated under the jurisdiction of the city administration, aimed at assisting in solving the practical daily issues of residents, rather than merely focusing on collecting reports.
