According to the Ecology Committee, the air in Tashkent has become noticeably cleaner, making the mountains visible from within the city. The agency noted that breathing has become easier in the capital. This was reported by kursiv.uz.reports.
The committee’s statement said such changes do not happen on their own; they are the first results of strict measures, raids, and public oversight carried out by a special commission for environmental protection.
According to IQAir monitoring, on the morning of December 29 the air pollution index in Tashkent was 44. This indicates the city’s air is almost clean. As of 10:17, the capital ranked 77th among world cities for air pollution.
In Samarkand and Nukus, air pollution levels were relatively higher, with indices of 53 and 68 respectively.
