An indoor substation—the first of its kind in Uzbekistan—is planned to be built in the New Tashkent area. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the project’s implementation process.
The 100 MW substation will cover New Tashkent’s initial-stage electricity supply needs. The initiative is being implemented as a public-private partnership with the participation of China’s Haocheng Industry Group Limited.
Indoor substations take up three times less space than conventional ones, feature lower noise levels, and can be installed in harmony with the urban environment without negatively affecting the architectural appearance.
At the same time, an energy plant based on trigeneration technology is also being built in New Tashkent. The first phase предусматривает capacities of 75 MW for heating, 100 MW for cooling, and 17 MW for electricity generation.
