On January 1, 2026, 1,094 babies were born in Uzbekistan. Among the newborns, 539 were boys and 555 were girls. This was reported by kursiv.uz.reports.
By region, the highest number of births was recorded in Fergana Region — 138 babies. Surkhandarya reported 135, Samarkand 125, Kashkadarya 121, and Namangan 110 newborns.
The lowest figure was in Syrdarya Region — only 19 newborns were registered there.
During the day, 17 sets of multiple births were recorded: 15 sets of twins, one set of triplets, and one set of quadruplets. During the holidays, 4,913 specialists — obstetricians, neonatologists, midwives, and nurses — are on duty in maternity complexes and other medical facilities.
