
Uzbekistan's national weightlifting team has successfully commenced its latest international challenge. The team secured its first medal at the prestigious Qatar Weightlifting Cup, currently taking place in Qatar. The honor goes to Munisa Odilova.
Competing in the 48 kg weight category, the Uzbek athlete secured a silver medal in the "snatch" discipline, showcasing her exceptional skill and physical preparation against strong competitors. Munisa demonstrated determination in each attempt and brought the Uzbek flag into the medal standings in the initial days of the competition.
It should be noted that the 10th Qatar Cup is being held in Doha from December 19 to 27, 2025. This competition is considered one of the significant starting events in the world of weightlifting, featuring top athletes from various countries.
The Uzbekistan national team is participating with a full lineup in this tournament. The team includes a total of nine weightlifters: four men and five women competing for medals. This demonstrates once again that Uzbekistan has ample talent and competition in the weightlifting arena.
