Another serious crime in the Republic of South Africa shocked the public. According to Agence France-Presse, citing police information, a mass shooting occurred in a settlement near Johannesburg.
According to reports, an unknown armed person opened fire in a crowded area, killing at least 10 people. Another 10 people were injured to varying degrees. The injured were immediately transported to medical facilities, and doctors are busy assessing their condition and providing the necessary assistance.
The exact reasons for the attack are currently unknown. Investigative bodies are considering several possible versions of the incident. It is not excluded that an armed attack may be connected with a personal conflict, the activities of a criminal gang, or other factors.
Police officers have intensified the search for the suspect who carried out the shooting. Until now, his identity has not been established, but law enforcement agencies stated that they have used all available resources.
