On December 2, 2025, Samsung unveiled its first-ever tri-fold smartphone, the Galaxy Z TriFold model. This was reported by Reuters.
The South Korean company aims to strengthen its position in the foldable smartphone segment with this device. Currently, Chinese companies are solidifying their positions in this market segment.
However, according to analysts, such devices remain in a niche market due to high prices and production difficulties. Experts view the Galaxy Z TriFold model as a new technological milestone but do not consider it a flagship device aimed at significantly increasing sales volumes.
According to Reuters, the starting price of the Galaxy Z TriFold will be $2,400, approximately 25% more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 model.
Alex Lim, Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics, stated that the foldable device market will continue to grow and that the TriFold model could act as a catalyst for faster growth in the key segments of this market. The Galaxy Z TriFold is set to be released in South Korea on December 12.
Following this, the device will be introduced in China, Singapore, Taiwan, and the United Arab Emirates. Its release in the U.S. market is planned for next year.
