A thief in the United States was caught after putting a stolen Mac mini up for sale

A case involving the theft of a Mac mini computer in the United States has ended unexpectedly. The device's owner managed to identify the thief on an online marketplace. This was reported by Ixbt.com reports.

According to Reddit user Vanifest0, the computer he ordered in mid-March had to wait four weeks because of shortages.

The problem arose during delivery: instead of leaving the box at the front door, the FedEx courier left it in a common area of the building. As a result, the Mac mini was stolen.

When the victim reported this to his manager, he was advised to check Facebook Marketplace.

In the posted photos, the computer owner noticed two important details: the device's serial number and the vehicle's license plate number. The serial number matched the information on the receipt.

The vehicle in the photos also turned out to be the same car that was parked in the building's parking lot.

Based on this information, a complaint was filed with the police and the building management company. It turned out that cases of parcels going missing had been frequent in this building in recent months.

Apple studied the situation and decided to send a new device, but the buyer will have to wait until June for it.
