However, early in the match, Leeds player Brenden Aaronson could have opened the scoring, but goalkeeper Robert Sanches saved his team in a difficult situation.
In the 25th minute, Fernandes opened the scoring after a cross from Pedro Neto. Although Leeds increased the pressure in the second half, Chelsea's defense and goalkeeper Sanches put in a confident performance.
In particular, the saves from Anton Stakh's powerful shots secured the London side's victory.
Chelsea will now face Pep Guardiola's Manchester City in the final in May. For coach Makfarlan, this will be his second clash with Guardiola this season.
