
On April 21, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on improving the quality of education and teacher training, according to Nova24.uz.
Plans include transforming the Tashkent State Pedagogical University and establishing the National Pedagogical University of Uzbekistan, along with implementing the "Teachers of the Future" program.
At New Uzbekistan University, over 40 foreign professors and 30 highly qualified Uzbek specialists are currently teaching. Student projects have attracted 24.3 billion soums in grants. Specialist training in engineering, digital tech, AI, and medicine will be expanded.
A new university clinic based on German standards will be opened. Under the PISA program, 9,000 15-year-old students from 233 schools will be assessed.
Currently, 2,000 schools are overcrowded. In 2024, the state will provide 112,000 new student seats. With rising demand, $200 million from the Islamic Development Bank will fund 58 modern schools.
Around 80% of students actively use the internet. Despite protective efforts, there is a shortage of authors producing national educational content for children. The president ordered expansion of such content and support for talented creators. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
