Mirziyoyev and the Agreements of the President of Finland


Negotiations were held at the “Kuksaroy” residence in Tashkent with the participation of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Finland Alexander Stubb, along with the official delegations of both countries. During the talks, the parties discussed issues related to increasing trade volume.

In particular, a proposal was put forward to establish a Trade Finance Fund to support the development of export and import between the two states. In addition, the idea of opening certification laboratories to facilitate the access of Uzbekistan’s agricultural and textile products to the European Union market was supported.

The parties agreed to hold the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission in 2026 and to establish a business council. At the end of the meeting, the presidents signed a Joint Statement as well as a set of bilateral documents aimed at developing cooperation in trade and economic spheres, geology, digital transformation, and innovation.

The documents provide for cooperation in areas such as social protection, education, science, and water resource management, as well as collaboration on climate change and environmental protection issues. In addition, the parties agreed to hold the first rectors and innovations forum next year.
