November is considered the last month of autumn. During this period, the warm weather gives way to cooler temperatures, winds, and the first chills.
According to meteorologists, the average temperature in November is 6–9 degrees lower than in October. The weather can be changeable—during the day it can be sunny and +20°, but at night the temperature drops, and even frost may occur.
In the coldest Novembers in Uzbekistan’s history, temperatures in the north reached as low as −31°, and around −20° in central regions. However, such cold spells have hardly been observed in the new millennium.
In recent years, minimum temperatures have ranged from −10…−15°, with the coldest Novembers recorded in 2016 and 2020. November 2023 was, on the contrary, the warmest November in the history of observations.
At that time, the average temperature was 3–6 degrees above the climatic norm, and in many regions, the temperature never dropped below zero. Interestingly, compared to other months, November in Uzbekistan over the last 25 years has not become warmer, but actually colder.
Rain and wet snow are common in November. In mountainous areas, the first snow has already arrived, and by the end of the month at 2,000 meters altitude, snow depths can reach up to 40 cm.
November 2011 was the wettest month in observation history: in Tashkent, 167 mm of precipitation was recorded (while the norm is 51 mm), and in Termiz, 148 mm fell (compared to a norm of 20 mm).
But sometimes the opposite has happened—throughout some months, total precipitation amounted to only 1–30% of the norm. This year, the beginning of November is expected to be calm: on November 1–2, no precipitation is anticipated throughout the country, and daytime temperatures will be around +15…+20°.
But starting from November 3, a cold and moist air mass will come in from the north. On November 3–5, especially in the foothill regions, there is a chance of rain and wet snow.
From November 4–7, a sharp drop in temperature is expected. In the second half of the month, temperatures will be highly variable.
Overall, November 2025 is expected to be slightly colder than the climatic norm: on average, 1–1.5° lower. There won’t be much precipitation, mostly 2–3 rainy days in the second and third ten-day periods of the month.
November weather is fickle: cold in the morning, warm autumn sunshine during the day, and at night you’ll need to dress warmly again. In short, one should not ignore the cold in November.
You can enjoy the sun during the day, but in the evenings, you’ll feel the first taste of cold winter.
