Durov: France is putting pressure on social networks

The founder of the Telegram messenger, Pavel Durov, criticized France as a country that has a harsh attitude towards social networks.

According to him, French police are currently conducting searches at the Paris office of the X social network. Durov emphasized that France is the only country in the world trying to prosecute all platforms that give people at least some degree of freedom - social networks like Telegram, X, and TikTok.

"Don't be mistaken, this is not a free country," Pavel Durov said.

For information, the founder of Telegram was detained at the Paris airport in August 2024. The investigation against him was conducted in connection with insufficient control over the content on the Telegram platform, as well as refusal to cooperate with French law enforcement agencies.
