Gas production in Uzbekistan decreased by 5%
Gas production in Uzbekistan continues to decline. In the first ten months of 2025, the country produced 35.5 billion cubic meters of gas.

This figure represents a 5.3% decrease compared to the same period last year. Additionally, oil production volumes have also declined.

Last year’s output of 602,000 tons dropped to 547,300 tons. The volume of condensate derived from gas also fell, from 1 million tons to 930,900 tons.

Amid the decline in gas production, Kazakhstan has expressed its readiness to increase the volume of Russian gas transited to Uzbekistan. Furthermore, Kazakhstan plans to cooperate with Tashkent in the oil industry and nuclear energy sectors.

According to forecasts by Kazakhstan, the transit volume of Russian gas to Uzbekistan will reach 6 billion cubic meters this year. Last year, this figure stood at 5.6 billion cubic meters.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced in September this year that geologists in the country had discovered a major gas field on the Ustyurt Plateau. The reserves of this field are located at a depth of nearly 7 kilometers.
