Sugar imports from Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan rise by 39%

In January–October 2025, Kyrgyzstan supplied 17.6 thousand tons of sugar to Uzbekistan. According to Tazabek, this figure is 39% higher than in the same period last year. This was reported by kursiv.uz.reports.
The value of shipments also increased significantly: within a year, export revenue rose from $8.7 million to $12 million.
During the same period, Kyrgyzstan also shipped sugar to other destinations — 108 tons to Tajikistan and 15 tons to Afghanistan.
According to Uzbekistan’s National Statistics Committee, by early November last year the country’s food imports exceeded $3.5 billion. Annual growth amounted to 18%.
In addition, in the first ten months of 2025, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan reached $787.3 million. In the corresponding period of 2024, the figure was $674.4 million.
