Nodirbek Abdusattorov earned over $350,000 in prize money in 2025

By the end of 2025, Uzbek grandmasters Nodirbek Abdusattorov and Javokhir Sindarov made the world’s top 10 chess players by total prize money earned during the year. This was reported by podrobno.uz reports .
In the ranking, Nodirbek Abdusattorov took 9th place. Over the year, he competed in 16 major international tournaments and earned a total of $361.8 thousand in prize money. His biggest single-tournament prize amounted to $85,000.
10th place went to FIDE World Cup winner Javokhir Sindarov. He took part in 11 international events and won $349.9 thousand in prize money. For Sindarov, the highest single-tournament payout reached up to $120,000.
The annual ranking was led by Norwegian grandmaster Magnus Carlsen: he earned $1.46 million across 16 tournaments and became the only chess player whose 2025 prize money exceeded $1 million. Fabiano Caruana placed second ($889.6 thousand), while Levon Aronian was third ($751.9 thousand). Hikaru Nakamura took fourth with $588.9 thousand in prize money.
It is worth recalling that Abdusattorov most recently won a silver medal at the World Blitz Chess Championship. In the decisive match held in Doha, Qatar, he lost to Magnus Carlsen.
