According to journalist Jamie Jackson, the 52-year-old coach does not want to be limited to a short-term role. Solskjaer hopes that if he can deliver results with the team this season and prove his potential, he will remain at Manchester United as the permanent head coach.
It is worth recalling that such a scenario has happened in Solskjaer’s career before: he arrived as interim head coach at the end of 2018, was officially confirmed as the permanent manager in March 2019, and stayed in the role until his resignation in November 2021.
