The number of foreign students studying in Uzbekistan has increased sharply

New figures have been released for citizens of the top 20 countries that have visited Uzbekistan for educational purposes. According to the National Statistics Committee, in January-November 2025, a total of 37.2 thousand foreign citizens came to our country for education. This indicator increased by 54.3% compared to the corresponding period last year.

According to the Committee, the number of foreign citizens who arrived in Uzbekistan for study in the first 11 months of 2025 by country was as follows:

-India - 16.3 thousand people

-Turkmenistan - 8.9 thousand people

-Tajikistan - 2.7 thousand people

-Pakistan - 1.7 thousand people

-China - 1.4 thousand people

-South Korea - 870 people

-Kyrgyz Republic - 823 people

-Egypt - 737 people

-Philippines - 501 people

-USA - 464 people

-Turkey - 357 people

-Afghanistan - 291 people

-Jordan - 194 people

-Great Britain - 179 people

-Russia - 164 people

-South Africa - 155 people

-Iran - 115 people

-Kazakhstan - 113 people

-Bangladesh - 97 people

-Italy - 94 people

Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan became one of the countries that made the largest contribution to the growth of the number of international students in South Korea. According to the data, the number of foreign students studying in South Korea recorded the highest figure in history at the end of the first half of 2024, during which 5,000 Uzbek students chose South Korea for their studies.
