In Tashkent’s Yangihayot district, proposals to rename certain streets and mahallas have been put up for public discussion. The hokimiyat’s press service reported this. This was reported by kursiv.uz. reports .
The city commission on geographic objects has begun collecting opinions from residents of the capital. As part of the discussion, it is also planned to assign official names to streets that currently have no name.
According to the hokimiyat, the initiative came from the Yangihayot district administration. Under the Law “On Names of Geographic Objects,” such decisions must be made with consideration of local residents’ opinions.
Voting is being held via the dedicated portal geonom.tashkent.uz. Citizens can also state their position until January 19 by calling (71) 210-04-13 or by sending a written request to the hokimiyat.
