In Andijan region, a 39-year-old man who entered a neighbor’s house and used violence against a minor child, taking 7 chicks by robbery, was sentenced to 10 years and 2 months of imprisonment.
According to the documents, the incident occurred on May 3, 2025, at around 13:30 in Baliqchi district of Andijan region. The defendant entered a neighbor’s home with the intent to steal. After noticing the homeowner’s minor son in the yard, he reportedly attacked him: used violence, beat him, and by strangling caused serious bodily injuries.
After that, it is stated that he took 7 chicks from the yard coop by robbery and fled the scene.
It is reported that this person had previously committed various crimes, had been convicted 7 times, and had served his sentences.
According to the verdict of the Oltinko‘l District Criminal Court dated November 11, 2025, he was found guilty under items “a, v, g” of Part 3 of Article 164 of the Criminal Code and sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment. With the application of Articles 60 and 61, the final sentence was set at 10 years and 2 months of imprisonment. He was also recognized as an “especially dangerous recidivist”, and it was determined that he would serve the sentence in a special-regime colony.
The defendant admitted guilt but disagreed with being classified as an “especially dangerous recidivist” and filed an appeal complaint.
On January 28 of the current year, the case was reconsidered by the appellate instance at the Andijan Regional Court. The judicial panel concluded that the first instance court had incorrectly applied item “a” of Part 3 of Article 164 (repeat offense): since the defendant had not previously been convicted under this article or similar crimes, the element of repeat offense was assessed as absent.
On this basis, item “a” was removed from the charge. However, the court found the type and term of punishment fair and left unchanged the sentence of 10 years and 2 months of imprisonment. The remaining parts of the decision, including the procedure for serving the sentence, were also left unchanged, and the appeal complaint was partially satisfied.
