In Uzbekistan, meat prices have risen again, and market pressure has intensified

Last year, the price of beef and mutton also increased sharply, which had a significant impact on the daily expenses of the population.
Experts note that the increase in meat prices in 2025 was significantly higher than the overall inflation rate. At the same time, the pace of local meat production slowed down, and imports increased sharply. This situation further exacerbated the pressure on market prices.
Prices are also rising in January 2026. For example, prices for beef and mutton in large markets in Tashkent have risen again over the past month. In particular, there is a noticeable increase in the price of mutton.
According to experts, if the volume of meat production is not increased and market equilibrium is not ensured, price pressure may persist in the coming months.
