A conflict is said to have arisen between Ramzan Kadyrov and the Kremlin
Relations between Ramzan Kadyrov and Vladimir Putin have deteriorated in recent months. This was reported to the publication "Vazhnie istorii" by a former FSB employee specializing in the North Caucasus, and his words were confirmed by a colleague who currently works there. The information was also partially confirmed by journalists and human rights activists working in the North Caucasus.

According to sources, the main reason for the disagreement between Kadyrov and Putin is that the FSB, without consulting the Kremlin, has been negotiating with representatives of Muslim monarchies in the Middle East regarding the future security of his assets and family members.

Kadyrov has been seriously ill for some time. According to an investigation by journalists of Novaya Gazeta Evropa, he has serious problems with his kidneys and pancreas.

His speech difficulties indicate that the disease is worsening. Although Kadyrov is trying to mask his deteriorating health with media activity, in recent months he has often disappeared from the public eye for long periods. In January and February, the Chechen leader did not appear in front of the cameras, later explaining this by taking a vacation. “They put various diseases on me,” he said. Since then, Kadyrov has not made any major statements, and only pre-prepared “canned” videos have been circulated.

The Chechen leader understands the power structure in his region very well and knows what awaits his family members if he leaves the stage. He is also well aware of the value of the promises and security guarantees from the federal center.

Kadyrov's uncertainty about the fate of his numerous relatives has forced him to seek guarantees for them from Muslim countries in the Middle East. Kadyrov has long had personal relationships with the leaders of these countries. According to sources from Vazhnie istorii, Kadyrov tried to hide such negotiations from the Kremlin, but the FSB immediately found out about it and reported it to Putin.

Recently, for example, Kadyrov removed his eldest child, 26-year-old daughter Aishat, from government positions. Since 2020, Aishat (she is the closest to him of all Kadyrov's children) has been the first deputy minister of culture of Chechnya, later the minister, and in 2023, the deputy prime minister. At the same time as Kadyrov's relations with the Kremlin deteriorated, Aishat left her post and, according to the Verstka publication, became the owner of the largest exporter in Chechnya, Chechen Mineral Waters. Previously, the company belonged to the Kadyrov family - first through the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation, and later through two nominal owners.

At the end of March, the names of Aishat Kadyrov and Taborak, the youngest daughter of the Chechen leader, were hidden in the register of legal entities.

The disagreement with the Kremlin also affected Kadyrov's close ally, State Duma deputy Adam Delimkhanov. "Since the beginning of 2025, Adam Delimkhanov has categorically refused to participate in any conflicts involving the use of force, regardless of the amount. He tells those who directly contact him that he has received strict instructions "from above" that the leaders and security forces of Chechnya should not get involved in such cases and should not be "invisible" at all," the VChK-OGPU Telegram channel wrote. Sources from Vazhnie istorii also confirmed this information.

An independent journalist working in the North Caucasus (who spoke on condition of anonymity) said that the human rights community in the Caucasus has also learned about Kadyrov and Delimkhanov's conflict with the Kremlin.

Ansar Dishni, a representative of the Chechen movement "Nyiso", said in an interview with "Vazhnie istorii": "Adam Delimkhanov has really been shown the limits of his capabilities."

According to him, Delimkhanov is currently staying at the "President Hotel" in Moscow's Big Yakimanka - this place serves as the headquarters for Kadyrov's representatives in the capital. The Kremlin and the FSB are unhappy with Delimkhanov's recent criminal schemes, including raiding and extortion, without consulting the state leadership. No details were given about the actions of which Delimkhanov's team is accused.
