Dust in the air increased 20 times above the norm in Nukus and Urgench

On August 22, under the influence of strong winds in the cities of Nukus and Urgench, the amount of dust particles in the air sharply increased, Uz24.uz reported. Wind speed was 9.2–10 km/h.

According to the information, in Urgench from 15:00 to 16:00, PM10 particles exceeded the norm by 1.1–5.1 times, and PM2.5 particles by 2.9–13.9 times. In Nukus, PM10 particles increased 3.3 times above the norm, and PM2.5 particles increased up to 20 times.

Officials recommend that the population take precautionary measures. The increase in dust in the atmosphere can negatively affect the respiratory system and overall health.
