Ford engineer found his lost wallet after 11 years

An extraordinary incident took place in Michigan. Former Ford factory engineer Richard Guilford found the wallet he had lost 11 years ago inside a car that was once assembled at the plant, reports Pravilamag.

The wallet was discovered by accident: the car was brought to a workshop for repair, and when mechanics opened the hood, they found the wallet underneath. Inside were a driver’s license, a Ford Motor Co. employee ID, a few dollars, and $250 worth of gift cards that the owner had intended to spend on Christmas presents for his children.

The wallet’s owner was quickly identified — it turned out to be retired Ford engineer Richard Guilford. LC Car Care shop owner Chad Volk found him through social media, contacted him, and the next day the wallet was mailed back to Guilford.

Interestingly, the wallet’s presence did not interfere with the car’s operation at all. According to the vehicle owner, the car had traveled more than 240,000 kilometers while the wallet remained intact. Guilford said: “Some items inside were heated and even changed, but there was never any moisture. It stayed completely dry and undamaged in that little corner.”
