The National Security Committee of Kazakhstan managed to prevent a terrorist attack in the city of Almaty. This was reported by the committee's press service.
It was established that there were five foreign nationals in the terrorist group preparing to carry out the crime. They were detained at the stage of preparing for the attack.
In September and October, eight citizens of Kazakhstan suspected of promoting terrorism were detained. Over the past two months, six people have been found guilty by a court of terrorist and extremist crimes.
"Since the beginning of the year, 89 people, including six foreign nationals, have been prosecuted for such crimes," the National Security Committee said in a statement. It should be recalled that at the beginning of September this year, 20 supporters of a destructive organization were sentenced in Uzbekistan.
The members of the organization studied the properties of explosive substances and toxic agents. Four of them managed to travel to Syria, where they joined terrorist groups.
