On October 21 in Tashkent, a Yandex Go service driver assisted a passenger in giving birth inside his vehicle. The driver is actually a pulmonologist by profession and began working as a taxi driver this summer to earn additional income.
His only order that day was around 11:30 am from Bektemir district. There was a pregnant woman, her mother-in-law, and a small child in the car.
The woman was heading to Maternity Hospital No. 5, but labor began while on the way. "After driving a few kilometers, it became clear that labor had started.
I stopped the car quickly and helped as much as I could. My medical skills helped, and at that moment I was just thinking about the condition of the woman and the baby," the driver said.
Together with the mother-in-law, he successfully assisted with the delivery. Afterwards, the driver took the mother and baby to the nearest emergency station, from where they were taken to the maternity hospital.
According to the driver, the condition of both mother and baby was stable. He emphasized that even though he does not know the baby's name, he will never forget this day.
