Trump called Central Asia a rich region

US President Donald Trump called Central Asia an "extremely rich region" at the "C5+1" summit. He added that Washington is interested in minerals of strategic importance.

According to Reuters, Trump emphasized that in recent weeks, agreements had been signed with allies and friends around the world to expand the critical minerals supply chain in order to strengthen US economic security. Reuters also noted that competition for Central Asia's mineral resources is intensifying and the West is striving to diversify its supply routes for raw materials.

The US is seeking new partners to supply critical minerals, energy resources, and trade routes via channels that bypass rivals. During Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s meeting with US business representatives, a package of documents was signed, including agreements on rare earth elements with Denali Exploration Group and Re Element Technologies.
