In Moscow on Wednesday, a blast killed two police officers and another person. The incident occurred near the site where General Fanil Sarvarov was killed two days ago in a car explosion. Russian officials linked the general’s killing to Ukrainian intelligence.
According to Russia’s Investigative Committee, the explosive device went off when two police officers approached a man acting suspiciously. A criminal case has been opened for the killing of law enforcement officers and the illegal handling of explosives.
Local residents reported hearing a very loud explosion, and some buildings shook. Unofficial Telegram channels reported that the person who triggered the device also died, but this information has not been independently confirmed.
The blast occurred close to where General Sarvarov was killed. The incident has highlighted security concerns in Russia and internationally. There was no official comment from Ukraine.
