A horrific incident that occurred in the Gorki-2 residential settlement near the city of Odintsovo in Russia’s Moscow region has shocked the public. A 15-year-old teenager who carried out a knife attack at a school has been officially arrested.
According to reports, the decision was made on December 18 by the Tver District Court of Moscow. The court approved the request of the Investigative Committee and ordered the detention of the teenager, who is accused of murder and attempted murder, for a period of two months.
According to investigators, on the morning of December 16, a ninth-grade student entered the school premises carrying a knife. He initially walked through classrooms, looking for a suitable moment to carry out an attack. When a school security guard noticed him, the teenager used tear gas against the guard and then stabbed him.
After that, the teenager attacked a fourth-grade student of the same school — Qobiljon Aliev, a child from a family of labor migrants from Tajikistan. Sadly, the boy died from the injuries he sustained.
The Investigative Committee reported that a criminal case has been initiated against the suspect on charges of murder and attempted murder of two or more persons. During questioning, the teenager fully admitted his guilt and did not conceal that he had prepared for the attack in advance.
In addition, photos of the deceased student, selfies, and images associated with extremist symbols were found on his phone. This circumstance raised particular suspicion among investigators.
Following the tragedy, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan and Russia issued official statements expressing condolences to the family of the deceased child. The body of Qobiljon Aliev was transported to his homeland on December 18 and buried in the Shahrinav district.
In short, the violent thoughts and uncontrolled actions of one teenager permanently shattered the happiness of one family. This tragedy has also become a serious warning for society as a whole.
