On December 18, an unexpected and rare natural phenomenon - snowfall - was observed in some areas of Saudi Arabia. This was reported by the Anadolu news agency.
It is reported that snow fell mainly in the northwestern and central regions of the country. Local media assessed the snowfall in and around Riyadh as a "very rare occurrence." Al Arabiya television channel called this a "historic event" and emphasized that such weather had not been observed for approximately 30 years.
Before the snowfall, weather forecasters warned that the air temperature across the country could drop sharply. Also, in some areas, a red and orange weather warning has been issued due to hail, heavy rain, and thunderstorms.

According to publications, heavy rains are currently falling in several Arab countries due to cold air currents. Experts attribute this situation not to seasonal, but to unusual climate changes.
