Zelenskiy to Discuss Territorial Issues with Trump

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy seeks to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump to discuss sensitive issues in a future peace agreement, including territorial control. The statement was released following recent U.S.-Ukraine talks.

According to Zelenskiy, the Ukrainian and U.S. delegations have moved closer to finalizing a 20-point main plan. This document is aimed at ending the war and ensuring a political agreement, with territorial issues to be discussed at the leaders’ level.

Under the new plan, Ukraine’s army would remain at its current strength of 800,000, and additional agreements with the U.S. and European allies would guarantee its security. Work is also underway on post-war reconstruction and investment matters.

However, no agreement has been reached on territorial issues. Zelenskiy proposes to “stay on current lines,” while Moscow demands that Ukrainian forces withdraw from eastern Donetsk. The fate of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant also remains unresolved.
