
Kyrgyzstan delivered 678 tons of rice to Uzbekistan during January-August of this year. This is 8 times more compared to last year.
In financial terms, the export volume increased from $78,000 to $388,000. Overall, Kyrgyzstan exported over 1,000 tons of rice for a total of $715,000.
By the beginning of September, Uzbekistan remains the main buyer of Kyrgyz rice. Following Uzbekistan are Turkey (308 tons) and Russia (17 tons).
According to Uzbekistan's National Statistics Committee, during the first eight months of this year, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan reached $597 million. Kyrgyzstan ranks 20th on Tashkent's list of main trade partners.
In general, by the beginning of September 2023, Uzbekistan had purchased a total of $2.6 billion worth of food products from abroad. Of this, $609 million accounted for grain products, which increased by 6.2% over the year.
