
Uzbekistan has expressed its condolences to Indonesia, Thailand, and Sri Lanka for the devastation caused by severe floods.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and wish a speedy recovery to those injured,” stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
As of December 2, no Uzbek nationals were reported among the casualties or injured. The situation is being closely monitored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic missions abroad.
In case of necessity, Uzbek citizens can contact for assistance. It has been reported that heavy monsoon rains have triggered floods and landslides in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.
As a result of the natural disaster, more than 1,200 people have died, and 800 others are reported missing. In Indonesia, roads and bridges have been destroyed, with rescuers using helicopters and boats to evacuate people, although weather conditions are complicating relief efforts.
In Sri Lanka, hundreds remain isolated, while recovery operations continue in Thailand.
