Teenagers who intimidated people and extorted money were detained (video)

In the Almazar district of Tashkent, a group of teenagers who demanded money from people through intimidation, violence, and threats was detained. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
It was reported that the group was led by an 18-year-old man who had previously been convicted of theft and hooliganism under the Criminal Code. He gathered his peers around him, formed a unified group, and exerted pressure on citizens, pretending to be "problem-solving leaders."
According to the materials of the pre-investigation check, this group influenced people's psyche, seized money and various material assets through intimidation and beatings. That is, they tried to present themselves as a strong side by speaking in the form of "city laws."
According to an example provided by law enforcement agencies, the group regularly collected various sums of money from an 18-year-old man for some time. It was later revealed that he was forced to pay $14,000 through violence and threats. The suspects were caught red-handed while receiving $2,000 of this sum.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 165, Part 2, Clauses "b" and "v" of the Criminal Code. That is, it is assessed as extortion committed by a particularly dangerous recidivist, an organized group, or in its interests. According to the law, suspects can be imprisoned for 5 to 10 years.
This story reminds us of something else: the scenario of "earning money through intimidation" often quickly becomes a sensation, but ultimately leads to accountability. Most importantly, those who find themselves in such a situation should not remain silent, and should immediately contact law enforcement agencies if there is a threat or pressure.
