Explosion at large oil refinery in Turkey

An explosion occurred at the Tüpraş oil refinery in the Kocaeli region of northwestern Turkey.

This was reported by the publication Haber Global.

It was reported that strong flames and thick smoke were observed around the area where the incident occurred. Fire services and ambulance crews were immediately dispatched to the scene.

The cause of the explosion is currently being investigated.
