Werder announced on the club’s official website that their Bundesliga match against Hoffenheim has been postponed. The game was scheduled for Saturday, but the German Football League called it off after extensive consultations with the clubs, the stadium operator and local authorities. It is noted that severe icing has formed in various areas of the stadium. In addition, a large part of the arena grounds is covered with thick snowdrifts.
As weather forecasts did not guarantee an improvement before kick-off, the match was moved to another date for safety reasons. Werder will provide additional information about the new date later.
