Alisher Qodirov proposed retiring teachers at 50 years old

In Uzbekistan, deputy and leader of the “National Revival” party Alisher Qodirov proposed the initiative to retire teachers at the age of 50, writes Vaib.uz website.

According to Qodirov, the main reason is the emergence of “professional fatigue” among teachers. He emphasized that in Uzbekistan, pilots and special service employees can retire after 50 because their professions are considered heavy and harmful.

The deputy stressed that teachers also work under a heavy load: there can be 50 students in one class, and three years of such work equals the burden of 30 years of life. Granting them the right to early retirement would be appropriate.

Currently, in Uzbekistan, men retire at 60 years old, and women at 55 years old. This initiative is widely discussed on social networks; on one hand, there are many supporters, on the other hand, questions arise whether the state budget can support this.
