Senator Erkin Gadoev sent an official inquiry to the Ministry of Transport regarding measures to reduce traffic congestion and jams in the capital. This was reported by the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.
According to reports, with the start of the school year, traffic in Tashkent increases sharply, and at certain times the congestion level reaches a maximum of 10 points. This leads to a significant loss of time and reduced efficiency for thousands of citizens traveling to the capital for work, study, and other purposes.
Statistics show that nearly 1 million people visit the capital every day, with approximately 275 thousand coming from Tashkent region. Thousands of cars enter the capital in the morning and return in the evening, further intensifying traffic congestion.
In his inquiry, the senator requested that the ministry provide information on measures being taken to reduce traffic congestion in Tashkent, the current status of the “Intelligent Transport” system, as well as the implementation of tasks set by the president and the reasons for any delays.
Earlier, Senator Kobul Tursunov sent a query to the Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, regarding problems with registering IMEI codes.
This initiative is considered an important step toward improving traffic flow and mobility for citizens in the capital.
