Uzbek citizens enslaved in Ukraine were rescued

13 Uzbek citizens who were forced into labor in the Kyiv region were rescued, uz24.uz reported. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that their condition is under control and efforts to return them to the Homeland have begun.

According to the investigation, this illegal scheme was organized by a 51-year-old Chinese individual. Among the suspects are two other Chinese nationals, one Thai woman, and five Ukrainians. It was noted that the citizens' passports were confiscated and they were held illegally.

The Uzbeks were hospitalized and provided with necessary medical assistance. The Embassy sent notes to the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Prosecutor General's Office, providing consular and legal assistance. At the same time, the embassy currently advises citizens not to plan trips to Ukraine due to security concerns.
