
Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree pardoning 615 individuals on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution. Among them, 220 individuals will be fully released from punishment, 123 individuals will be conditionally released early, and 97 individuals will have their sentences commuted to lighter penalties.
Additionally, the sentences of 175 convicts will be reduced. This decision was made for individuals who have admitted their guilt, expressed remorse for their actions, and have returned to the correct path in life.
The decree was issued in accordance with the Constitution of Uzbekistan. Among those pardoned are nine foreign nationals, 29 women, 23 individuals over the age of 60, and 264 individuals under the age of 30, including two minors.
Furthermore, the list includes nine individuals who were previously convicted for participating in activities of banned organizations. Last year, 483 individuals were pardoned on the occasion of Constitution Day.
