According to Haikin, even after the match the team did not immediately realize what they had achieved: “We didn’t instantly feel that we had beaten a club that perhaps has the strongest system in the 21st-century football industry. This match has gone down in history not only for us, but for all Norwegians and for Norwegian sport as a whole,” he said on the VideoSports program.
The goalkeeper singled out this result as one of the most important wins of his career.
