An official response was issued in Tashkent regarding an incident that sparked widespread discussion on social media. In particular, following reports about the installation of an advertising sign written in the Indian language near Tashkent State Medical University, an inspection was conducted by the city administration.

As a result of the review, it was established that the advertising sign had been installed illegally, without obtaining the required permits and in violation of the established procedure. It was also noted that advertising information rules were not observed, including violations of the laws “On the State Language” and “On Advertising.”

According to the statement, under current legislation, all advertising materials placed within the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan must primarily be presented in the state language. If necessary, additional languages may be used, but the text in the state language must remain the main and dominant one. In addition, proper authorization is required for the placement of any outdoor advertising media.

Based on the identified violations, the illegally installed advertising sign written in the Indian language was dismantled in accordance with established procedures. The Tashkent city administration called on entrepreneurs and organizations to strictly comply with legal requirements when installing advertising banners, signs, and other outdoor information materials.

It was also emphasized that if such violations are repeated, advertising materials will be removed and appropriate legal measures will be taken against the responsible parties in accordance with the law.
